Katie is the second oldest of twenty-five cousins, and spent a large amount of her childhood taking care of children. She was born and raised in Michigan, attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing. She has served her entire nursing career working in children’s hospitals and clinics throughout the country, including Chicago, New York City, and here in Denver. Before joining the Pediatrics West family she was an emergency department nurse at the Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver. Katie earned a Master’s degree from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In her free time Katie enjoys cooking, practicing yoga and spending time with her husband, Andy.

 

Betsy Barringer PA-C

Betsy Barringer, PAC

Pediatric Physician Assistant

Betsy grew up in Boulder and received her undergraduate degree in biology at CU Boulder. After working as a Medical Assistant for 10 years she returned to school and became a Physician Assistant through the Child Health Associate Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1991. She is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the Colorado Association for Physician Assistants. Betsy likes hiking, traveling, and reading. Most of all she loves spending time with her husband, son, and dog. Betsy’s love of children led her to specialize in Pediatrics. “Every day brings a smile, laugh, and a new lesson.”

 

Dana Jundt PNP-C

Dana Jundt, C-PNP

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Dana was born and raised in the panhandle of Nebraska. She graduated from the West Nebraska School of Nursing in 1979 and relocated to Colorado that same year where she and her husband, Joe, have lived for all but three years. She worked as a registered nurse at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in pediatric inpatient, emergency, and management positions for more than 20 years before going back to graduate school to obtain her masters degree in advanced practice nursing. She graduated from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2002, and has practiced as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since that time. She has worked for The Children’s Hospital of Orange County Emergency Department in Orange, California and The Denver Children’s Hospital Emergency Services in the past. She has two grown sons and one beautiful granddaughter. Her greatest love is spending time with her family but she also enjoys reading, travel, and third world medical mission work. Dana feels honored to assist families through times of growth and illness. She loves watching children learn, and after more than 30 years of caring for children and their families, is continually amazed by the innocence of childhood.
