About Larissa Applegate MD

Dr. Larissa Applegate is a board-certified pediatrician with more than 10 years of experience caring for children, and young adolescents. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from New York University in 2001 and received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2009, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. She completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of Colorado in 2012.

In May 2026, Dr. Applegate completed a Master of Acupuncture at the Institute of Taoist Education & Acupuncture in Louisville, Colorado. This training allows her to integrate acupuncture and Eastern medicine approaches into her practice at Pediatrics West in support of whole-person health and well-being.

Dr. Applegate has been recognized by 5280 magazine as a Top Doctor from 2023, 2024, 2025, & 2026 and is included in its directory of leading physicians in the Denver metro area and beyond. She is known for her compassionate, thoughtful approach to care and her commitment to helping families navigate each stage of their children’s health. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, yoga, and spending time off the grid with her husband and two teenage children.

Why I am a Pediatric Provider?

t’s fun, challenging, and rewarding. Kids ask the most amazing questions. Teenagers do too! Their parents are pretty cool too.

I love to craft - sewing, cooking, baking, painting, paper crafting, and felt crafting. Anything that gets me closer to feeling like Martha Stewart. I also rode my bicycle from Seattle to Boston summer of 2002.

A stuffed animal my mom made me, a dog named “ Bingo.”
