During your child’s first couple years of life, you’ll have more pediatric appointments than any other time. We want to see your infant and toddler often in order to check your child’s development, identify any health concerns, keep their immunizations on schedule, and help you through any challenges or concerns.
At Pediatrics West, we also think this time is important because it gives parents the perfect opportunity to bond closely with their family physician. We want parents to feel comfortable reaching out to their pediatrician to ask questions because we know it can substantially improve a child’s health.
Before your visit, we recommend writing down any questions or concerns you have.
What to Expect at a Well Visit
At your infant or toddler’s well visit, we will check to make sure your child is developing properly and look for signs of potential physical, mental, or social issues such as childhood diseases, behavior disorders or growth abnormalities.
A comprehensive well exam inclues:
- A physical exam
- Any recommended immunizations
- Health screening
- Developmental assessment
- Oral health assessment
- Referral for specialized care if necessary
We’ll also discuss establishing healthy lifestyle at home and answer any questions you may have, such as sleep routines, breastfeeding or formula feeding, nutrition, and teething.
Immunization Schedule
We follow the CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommended vaccine schedule. As healthcare providers for children and young adults we believe in protecting our patients from these preventable diseases.
Visit Schedule
